Pop singer Miley Cyrus is getting closer to rock. The artist, who has already made versions for songs by Metallica (band mentioned as influence of her next album), Pink Floyd and Nirvana, among others, recently presented a cover for Blondie's hit "Heart of Glass".
The version was played last Saturday (19), in this year's online edition of iHeartRadio Festival. Miley also performed three of her own songs, which are "Nothing Breaks Like a Heart", "Who Owns My Heart" and "Midnight Sky", but it was Blondie's cover that became the most talked about on social media.
In a recent interview with NRJ radio, the pop singer revealed that her new album will have very eclectic influences. The artist pointed out that it carries inspirations ranging from Britney Spears to Metallica.
Initially, she pointed out that the first single released from her new album went public with "a lot of pressure". "I think the first single always comes with pressure, as it kind of shows everyone which way you're going," he said, citing "Midnight Sky" - a song that, according to her, is influenced by Stevie Nicks and Fleetwood Mac.
Then Miley talked about the eclectic factor in her work. "In my sets, I sing Britney Spears to Metallica, so this new album will reflect that. It will bring who I am, which kind of brings together these different pieces of inspiration and influences," he declared.
