‘American Britpop from The Netherlands’
Our guest producer Flávio Kebras spoke about his analysis of the single
"Rainclouds Hide the Moon" from this band that promises to make history.
The blend of the first acoustic guitar chords with the ambient pads coming next is just
perfect, like the next passage where those pads end and the voice comes in, along with
the bass punctuation, what in turn merges perfectly with the coming chorus. The singer
has a beautiful voice tone and makes a very good use of it along the song, with the
harmonizations and back vocals giving an adequate depth to the overall vocal track.
Everything on this song is really well arranged, since the build-ups, passing through
the inclusion of the brass parts, to the progressive inclusion of more and more details
on the chorus and verses. Every instrument is very well performed; every part and
progression of the beginning, chorus, verses and bridges has its place, the guitar solo
with its “chorusy” character works very nicely with the vocals and with each other
without overwhelming the listener or boring it. The bass line locks in perfectly with
the drums, giving the track a very solid foundation. The drummer does a great job
with the fills and the ghost notes on the snare, giving the song a very good balance.
The song has a great feeling; the production is top notch and, summarizing, this song
could be a potential hit! 10/10
