Pop, Rock and Metal

Guitarist and multi-instrumentalist GUILHERME COSTA, was born on December 20, 1992, in the city of Belo Horizonte / MG, and had his first contact with music at the age of 14 by learning his first guitar chords with his grandfather and at the age of 15 he started his guitar studies.
Guilherme throughout his career went through several bands, the first being the Heavy Metal band Seawalker, and shortly afterwards a Melodic Death Metal band called D.A.M. However, he was not limited to heavy rock, being a guitarist for a Brazilian Popular Music group, led by singer Walter Cicarini.
In addition, he also has an academic degree in teaching music, achieved on the School Music Education at UEMG and taught guitar and music theory classes at the Pro Music School, in Belo Horizonte. Throughout his guitar studies, Guilherme took classes with several renowned guitarists, like Felipe Dias, Leo Lanny (Dinnamarque and also ex-Seawalker), Bill Hudson (Circle II Circle and Jon Oliva’s Pain) and
Roger Franco (4action and Freedom).

In addition to teaching at the Avantgarde and EMP schools, Guilherme is a guitarist for some bands in the Belo Horizonte cover scene, currently paying tribute to bands like Pearl Jam, AC / DC and Guns N 'Roses, having also paid tribute to Avenged Sevenfold, Metallica and Paramore in the past.
However, Guilherme's focus is his solo authorial career, officially started with the release of the EP “The King's Last Speech” (2017), produced by Gus Monsanto, and in the development of his column on the portal/channel Guitar Shred. He is sponsored by Elixir guitar strings.
With the influence of big names from the 6 strings, such as Tony Iommi, Synyster Gates, Joe Satriani, Kiko Loureiro and Paulo Schroeber, in early 2016 Guilherme recorded the first official work of his solo career, the EP entitled “The King's Last Speech”, in Petrópolis / RJ, with production by Gus Monsanto and Celo Oliveira, containing 3 instrumental tracks “Come on and Play”, “The Beginning of a Journey” and “The King's Last Speech”.
Guilherme made a brief comment about each track and its influences:
- “Come on and Play” is a song that has Joe Satriani as the biggest influence. Its main theme was based on the song 'Summer Song'. It has virtuous solos and phrases with the footprints of 80's hard rock”.
- “The King’s Last Speech” is the title track for the EP. Its theme was
based on the songs of Swedish guitarist Yngwie Malmsteen. It is also the
shorter song on the disc for having a more objective character”.
- “The Beginning of a Journey” is the ballad track of the album, which was inspired
on songs like “Always with me Always with You” and “Cryin’’’ by Joe
Satriani, in addition to influencing soundtracks from famous films.
The solos have an extremely striking feeling and theme”.
In early October 2016, he signed with DUNNA Records, which released the EP and debut album.

Light Of Revelations is the title track of the disc and the third track sung with the participation of Gus Monsanto on vocals. The lyrics speak about the light of revelations, which is a light that we have within us and that is our guide in our goals and in the battles for our dreams. The light of the revelations is a metaphor for self-knowledge, which is something extremely necessary to achieve our goals and targets and with it we can find many solutions to our illnesses and many answers to the mysteries that we need to unravel throughout life. His sound was based on melodic heavy metal, with the influence of bands such as Stratovarius, Angra and Sonata Arctica.
Homeland is the last instrumental track on the disc and has the greatest influence on Brazilian music, more specifically Baião. It was based on the classics of the northeastern singer and composer Luiz Gonzaga and the music also has in one of its parts a clear influence of North American thrash metal.
